GREAT FALLS, Mont. October 27, 2012 – The University of Great Falls Lady Argonauts soccer team revenged two previous losses to Jamestown College this season with a 3-2 win this afternoon. With difficult conditions for both teams, the Jimmies came out with an early lead with a goal by Lexie Starceski in the first minutes of play. The Argos would answer with a goal of their own 12 minutes later as Mayra Castillo scored her fourth goal of the season and theArgos ended the half tied at 1-1.

The Argos came out strong in the second half and freshman Ashley Todd gave the Argos a 2-1 lead six minutes into the second half with a shot from 25 yards out off of an assist from Mayra Castillo. However, a few technical errors off of a Jimmie cornerkick would give Jamestown College the equalizer only two minutes later.

The lady Argos kept the run of play into most of the second half and junior Katy Swart found her way weaving in between Jimmie defenders until being pulled down for a penalty kick. Swart sealed the deal on th ensuing kick which lifted the Argos to a 3-2 win.

"It was a great win for our team today. We have been playing our best soccer of the year in the last three games. I am proud of all that they have achieved as a group and was happy we could produce a win on  our "Breast Cancer Awareness" game, stated Coach Brian Clarke." The Lady Argos sported tied-died uniforms during the game in appreciation of Breast Cancer Awareness  month in which many of the team's members have loved ones whom have been affected by the deadly disease. "I am proud of our team in the great win today but much more by their efforts today to bring more awareness of Breast Cancer and it's devistateting affects. We all have lost loved ones to the terrible disease and wish all of those the best!"

The lady Argos will take on Trinity Lutheran College tomorrow at 2pm in a non-conference match-up before hosting #20 Rocky Mountain on Friday and #21 Carroll College on Saturday in conference play. Both games are slated for a 1pm kick-off.
